Pouring Concrete For A 28' X 28' Garage Slab

#TheConcreteUnderground #EverythingAboutConcrete In this video I'm pouring concrete for a 28' x 28' garage slab. This concrete slab has thickened edges (also called a monolithic slab), that are 18" deep by about 3' wide. Just filling up the thicker edges took about 9 yards of concrete. When we pour a monolithic slab like this, the forms have to be braced off at least every 4' to keep the forms from bowing outward. We will start pouring the concrete by filling up the edges at least half way, all the way around the slab. This allows us to adjust the forms if they do move without filling them all the way to the top. If you want to pour your own concrete slab like this, click on my link to The Concrete Slab Course below. In the course, I'll show you all the steps from forming, to pouring, and finishing a garage slab like this one.
