Pouring Concrete Floors In Freezing Temperatures (My Advice)
#EverythingAboutConcrete #MikeDayConcrete #PouringInFreezingTemps In this video I'm talking about how to pour concrete floors in freezing cold temperatures. I have to pour concrete in below freezing temperatures from November to March here in Maine. I've been pouring floors for 40 years in freezing temperatures with a lot of success and some failures. Most of the failures are from the floor not being protected afterwards with blankets and the concrete floor froze then the top scaled off. But most of the concrete floors we've done in the winter are like the one in the video, where we pour right outside with the temperature in the teens or twenty's. Then wait around for the concrete to set up so we can finish it. Then cover it with insulating blankets. The mix I like to use is a 4000 psi with water reducer, 140 degree hot water, bag flake calcium accelerator and straight cement. No fly ash or slag in the mix.
