Tips For Pouring A Large Concrete Slab Foundation
#Pouringaconcreteslab #Concreteslabfoundation #Mikedayconcrete In this video I'm going to tell you my best tips for pouring a large concrete slab foundation. This concrete slab is about 5000 square feet and took 70 yards of concrete. When you pour a large concrete slab like this or larger, you have to have a plan. You should not only be thinking of the best way to pour the slab but also how you're going to finish the concrete as well. When I pour a concrete slab of this size, I do it in stages, always keeping a wet edge so we don't get a "cold joint". A cold joint is when the edge of the newly poured concrete starts setting up before you get back there with new concrete and get that section screeded & bull floated. Having a process and a plan will help eliminate cold joints and allow for a smoother and faster installation.
