Concrete Slab For A 1.6 Million Dollar Paper Machine
#everythingaboutconcrete #concreteslab #mikedayconcrete In this video I'm pouring a very thick concrete slab that will support a 1.6 million dollar paper machine. The high tech paper machine weighs 50,000 pounds and the specs call for a 17" thick concrete slab with a mat or rebar for reinforcement. The original concrete floor was saw cut to size and the concrete demoed & hauled off. The original gravel base was dug down to the proper depth and a mat of #4 rebar 12" on center was tied in place. We used a 4000 psi concrete mix for the slab and power buggy's to place the concrete. The paper machine is a very expensive piece of equipment and the concrete slab had to be just right. All the bond outs were removed early so we could mag and trowel under the forms. We steel troweled the surface to a very smooth finish to meet the owner's expectations.
