Why My Concrete Looks Wet! (It's Actually Stronger Concrete)
#EverythingAboutConcrete #MikeDayConcrete #strongerconcrete In this video we're using a high range water reducer or superplasticizer in the concrete mix to make it look like and flow like wet concrete but it's really stronger concrete. Superplasticizer is a chemical additive added to the concrete mix that increases flowability without adding water. The water/cement ratio stays low so the strength is high. If you used water to get the same flowable concrete, you'd have to increase the water/cement ratio which weakens the concrete. Most people see "wet" or "loose" concrete as bad concrete, and it could be if you don't use a superplasticizer. But if you do use them, (work smarter not harder) the concrete is actually stronger and easier to place. That's why we use either a mid-range water reducer or hrwr on all our placements.
