Can You Pour Concrete Over Ice? (Pouring Concrete Floors IN Freezing Temps)
#EverythingAboutConcrete #MikeDayConcrete This morning was very cold and we had to remove some ice from the sub-grade before we poured the concrete floor. Pouring concrete in cold weather takes some planning, especially with the mix design and the daily temperatures. It was in the 20's F when we started this pour and got up to a high of about 35 on this day. The styrofoam helped the concrete retain some of its heat and set up faster so that was a bonus. The concrete had 130 degree hot water in it as well as accelerators to speed up set time. Cold weather concrete pours are difficult enough, but starting with the right concrete mix will help make for a successful pour.
