#Pouringconcrete #Beginners #Learn Learn more about concrete: www.everything-about-concrete.com If you're a beginner and want to learn how to pour concrete for a basement floor, this video will show you how to pour the concrete, how to screed the concrete, how to level the concrete, and how to bull float the concrete. I use a laser level to set my finish floor grade four inches above the sub-grade. I mark the foundation wall with a pencil and the grade stick that has a receiver on it. The receiver reads the laser beam from the laser level and tells me when I'm at the right height. I mark the bottom of the grade stick and use these marks to snap a chalk line at the finished concrete floor height. I use the chalk line during the pour to mag float my wet pads around the perimeter of the basement floor. I make a wet pad in the middle of the floor using the laser level and grade stick to use as my floor level while I screed. The wet pad in the middle is the same level as the outside perimeter. After screeding the floor, I bull float the concrete to smoothen the surface and prepare the concrete floor for the finishing process. If you're a beginner learning how to finish concrete, this video will show you the basics of how to run a power trowel and how to finish a concrete floor with it. Learning how to finish concrete using a power trowel will take you some practice and some hands on training. This video is a way for me to share some of my knowledge with you about the process of power troweling a floor and the different stages of finishing concrete. I use the terms "floating" and "finishing" the concrete a lot. Floating the concrete is when we make the first pass over the floor. This pass is to fill tiny dips, level tiny high areas, and begin to smooth the concrete. After floating, we "finish" the floor using finish blades. These blades smooth the floor further each time you power trowel the surface. The process of finishing concrete with a power trowel usually takes 4 - 6 passes of different times over the entire floor. It all depends on how fast or slow the concrete is curing. If you want to resurfaced some damaged concrete, using a stamped concrete overlay is one way to fix the damage. I'm showing you how to mix the overlay material, how to apply it, how to stamp it, and how to seal it. Most stamped concrete overlays are 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. The material mixes up quite easy using a Collomix electric mixer. Spread the mix using a guage rake so you get the right depth and smooth it out using a magic trowel. If you need to repair, fix or just change the appearance of your concrete, this is a very good method to do that.
