Pouring An 80' x 28' Concrete Slab (Duplex House Slab)

#everythingaboutconcrete #concreteslab #mikedayconcrete In this video I'm pouring a 80' x 28' concrete slab for a duplex house. This slab is 5 - 6 inches thick with the edges tapering to 12" thick. I used 4000 psi concrete to pour the slab, the concrete mix had hot water and we used accelerators to speed up the set time. The temperatures on this day were in the low 40's and started out right around freezing. When I pour a larger concrete slab I plan out how much each truck will fill based on how many yards they're carrying. I pour out the concrete and level it for each truck, one at a time. That helps me stay organized as I pour the concrete and it helps me to understand if we're using more concrete or less concrete than I figured. I used a total of 45 yards on this slab, which will eventually be a duplex house slab when it's built.
