RADIANT HEAT CONCRETE FLOOR | OVER PLYWOOD

This concrete floor will heat the entire house using the radiant heat tubing to warm the concrete. In Maine, I pour a lot of concrete floors with radiant heat tubing in the floor, just like the one in the video. This concrete floor is 1.5 inches thick and is one of the best ways to install radiant heat in a new home. The concrete floor is being used as a "big mass" to collect and hold the heat from the hot water running through the tubing. In most cases there's some other type of flooring being installed over the concrete. My job is just to get the concrete floor flat and pretty smooth. Most of the time I'll finish the concrete on a floor like this by hand. I'll use my concrete kneeboards and mag float & hand trowel the concrete smooth.
