This large pole barn has three floor drains we had to slope the floor to. When you wet screed concrete and you are sloping the concrete floor it's important you take the time and check your grades when making your wet pads. It's also important you make sure the slopes are all consistent with no dips or humps. When someone has multiple floor drains in a concrete floor like this we always make a "high" point in between each drain so as not to have a "bird bath" in between the drains. We also have a strategic way of pouring a large concrete floor like this to help make the finishing process as easy as possible. When you have multiple concrete tucks showing up on the job site, you want to be prepared to empty each truck in a timely manner. Most concrete companies will give you a time limit per yard of concrete. If you're not sure how much time you have to empty a truck, check with the ready mix supplier. They may have an extra charge for going over this allotted time. Pouring a large concrete floor for a pole barn is basically the same process as pouring smaller concrete floors, just do it in sections, one truck at a time. One truck after another, until you have the entire floor poured.
