A good concrete finisher, that really knows concrete, can finish a lot of square footage all by himself/herself when we're talking about floors and slabs. We pour a lot of concrete floors and slabs of all sizes throughout the year. And a lot of times I have to leave just one finisher on a job so we can keep up with a very busy schedule. My concrete finishers, Darin and Luke, are very good at finishing all kinds of concrete. But especially troweling concrete floors and slabs. They really understand the timing of the finishing process and how fast of slow the concrete sets up depending on a number of situations. A few things that good finishers understand about how concrete sets up are; what mix design we're using that day, temperature outside, sun and shade areas, length of travel for the mixer to the jobsite, type of sub-base we're pouring on, all those things and more come into play when understanding how to finish concrete.
